In the Left Behind Book Series second title, Tribulation Force, it presented the world in which they created in the first book and have given us a graphic description about what is to come after the rapture.

It is in this book that the plagues begin coming and don't stop.

Journalist Buck Williams, pilot Rayford Steele, his daughter Chloe Steele, and their pastor Bruce Barnes have formed a little union, a Tribulation Force, designed to fight the forces of darkness that are foretold to grow great on the earth now that Rapture has taken place. The four know that things are going to heat up fast, once Nicolae Carpathia, the charismatic leader that has ascended quickly through the political strata, signs a peace treaty with Israel.

The four returned to their respective jobs while at the same time armed with the knowledge of salvation, and prepared to bring as many as possible to that salvation. Rayford soon finds himself the pilot of the US President's personal plane, which is actually signed over to Carpathia and his delegation soon after. Rayford finds himself not only flying, but working at close proximity with the man whom he believes would be mankind's greatest enemy.

Tribulation Force: The Continuing Drama of Those Left Behind (Left Behind No. 2)

I found that the second installment in this series generally moved slower than the first. For the first half of the book, I kindda got tired of hearing repeatedly how they marveled at their past ignorance and how now their new-found knowledge was so liberating.

It tended to be a little more preachy which I found to be a bit tiresome. There is a stirring and propelling chapter in the book where a very respected Rabbi confronts the two witnesses at the Wailing Wall which I have found to be very moving.

This part was a very emotional and very powerful turning point in the book. The action only seems to pick up in the last third part of the book, and it became a real page turner at that point. ; )

I was browsing at my favorite Barnes and Noble branch when I came upon this fascinating book. The title caught my eye - Left Behind Book, A Novel Of The Earth's Last Day.

I am not an ultra religious person and nope, I am not a Christian... I've just always been fascinated by the Revelations, and the book does an amazing job of fleshing out possible scenarios when that time comes.

The book starts on the day of rapture - wherein Airline captain Rayford Steele was shocked when over one hundred passengers vanish from his plane in the blink of an eye. Then he quickly remembered the Rapture his wife had been telling him about - an event in which Jesus would descend from Heaven to take his followers to Heaven before they die- has happened and he has been left behind.

And then what follows was the unmistakable chaos that engulfs the world as everyone tries to understand how millions of people disappeared at the exact same time. Some of these people find their faith and turn to God while the rest of the world gets entranced by the rise of the Anti-Christ.

It brings you through the life of four people - Rayford, Chloe, Buck, Bruce - all of them have been left behind. You can literally feel like you are in the characters' shoes sometimes. It is a well balanced book with action, drama, and even a little bit of romance Overall, the story has a really good theme that goes well with the plot.

It basically tries to say that people do not appreciate what they have until it is gone. Whether you like christian fiction or not, you have to be absoloutely insane to let this book pass you by! It has been written to reach out all type of readers...it doesn't matter if you're a believer or not.

The fast paced developing plot and the credible and lovable characters portrayed in it will grasp you and take you at the edge of your seat. The story lead to a shocking end that would make you want to continue reading... :)

The Left Behind book is a must read!
